Since I seldom enjoy memoirs, I was hesitant to read this book, but I’m so glad I took a chance on Truth Found Me by Melody Miller-Mann. It’s deep, interesting from beginning to end, and has an adequate amount of humor. The life this author experienced when she set out with little money and one backpack is unbelievable. She is close to my age, and, while I’ve heard of people in the 60s and 70s doing that, I’m astounded that she took off across the world alone with so little and persevered despite the difficulties she encountered. Looking back, I think I might have enjoyed going with her!

The book is a well-written page turner. I loved meeting the characters she met, and her way of telling stories made me feel like I was there with her every step of the journey. When she ran out of money and had to get jobs along the way, I felt her stress and saw her courage. When she suffered hardships and scary moments, I felt her tension and saw her bravery. I loved the characters who helped her and wanted to smack those who harmed her. The storytelling is phenomenal.

I may read more memoirs after this, especially if they are written by Melody Miller-Mann.
